What is Cnidium Extract
Cnidium monnieri extract is derived from the fruit of Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss. Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss. Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss. Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss. Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss.
Cnidium extract used in traditional Chinese medicine
Cnidium is pungent, bitter, warm in nature, and has a small poison, and it mainly belongs to the kidney meridian. It has the effects of drying dampness and expelling wind, killing insects and relieving itching, warming kidney and strengthening yang. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat impotence, palace cold, cold dampness zone, dampness arthralgia, low back pain, and external use to treat eczema, trichomonas vaginitis, etc. As a traditional Chinese medicinal material, Cnidium monnieri has a wide range of uses and many effects. Its main active ingredient is a coumarin compound mainly composed of osthol.
Modern pharmacological study of Cnidium monnieri extract
The main chemical components of Cnidium are coumarins and volatile oils, as well as triterpenoids, glycosides, sugars and other compounds. Among them, coumarin compounds are the main components of Cnidium monnieri to exert pharmacological effects. 48 kinds of coumarin compounds were isolated and identified, including 22 simple coumarins and 9 linear furanocoumarins. Among them, the content is relatively high. There are 6 coumarin compounds commonly used for chemical detection and identification, namely Osthole, Imperatorin, Isopimpinellin, and Xanthotoxin (Xishhotoxin), Bergaptene and Isoimperatorin.
Studies have shown that the coumarin compound in Cnidium monnieri has a variety of biological activities, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-osteoporosis, etc. It can also be used as a biological pesticide. We use Osthole as an effective ingredient for quality control.
