Description of Curcumin
Curcumin is the yellow pigment associated with the curry spice, turmeric, and to a lesser extent ginger. It is a small molecule that is the prototypical 'curcuminoid', and has effects similar to other polyphenols but unique in a way as it is a different class of polyphenol.
Application of Curcumin
1. Curcumin can be used as an edible yellow pigment. Curcumin is commonly used in the coloring of beverages, candies, pastries, intestinal products, dishes, sauces, tins and other foods, as well as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
2. Curcumin can be used in medicine to anti-tumor，prevent senile dementia and anti-inflammation, etc.
