Basil, an unknown adaptogen

    Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum) is a lesser-known adaptogen herb. It is a member of the mint family. As a traditional herb, it is commonly used in the Indian traditional medical system. A literature review found that basil significantly reduced symptoms of stress in two studies. Three other studies report that long-term high-dose basil can significantly reduce stress and anxiety.
